Take and eat…

Last month, I attended a college rally on Pensacola Beach (titled “Love On The Beach”, yeah I don’t know either…) I’ve only gone to youth rallies at this point and was used to being a “chaperone.” I really liked this event because the subject matter was more geared towards people my age. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve heard some great sermons while tagging along with a youth group. However, it was nice to know that this one was for me.
The greatest part about the whole weekend (other than everyone doing the “electric slide” to music by “DL GLO”) had to be the Lord’s Supper on Sunday morning. Right before they started it, the speaker told everyone to get up and go get their own Supper (instead of passing it around like normal). Then he instructed us to find someone we didn’t know and share our Supper with each other. It was everyone’s job to at least get their name and maybe where they’re from. I met a guy named John from Kentucky and another named Chris. He was from St. Louis.
This was the neatest thing I’ve done regarding worship in a long time. I think this sort of thing should be practiced more often. I’ll probably never forget it.
